The Garmisch-Partenkirchen Hospital and Clinics, an academic teaching hospital of the Ludwig-Maximilians University (LMU) of Munich, is a highly specialised and recognized provider of top-level medical care with a super-regional medical mandate. Furthermore the hospital is the main interdisciplinary supplier of medical care in the region.

A team of 1.100 highly qualified and motivated doctors, nurses and technicians provide the best possible state-of-the-art treatment in 17 medical departments. Since July 2007 the Medical Center runs a highly productive second center for Internal Medicine in the 25 km distant town of Murnau, at the Hospital of the Associations for Accident Prevention and Insurance (BGU).

The Garmisch-Partenkirchen Medical Center has been certified by the Cooperation for Transparency and Quality in Healthcare (KTQ) since 2004.
